Facebook Launches Digital Literacy Library to Help Youth Build Skills Online

Facebook on Friday introduced the launch of a Digital Literacy Library to assist younger people construct the abilities they want to securely revel in on-line technology.

The interactive instructions and films, developed in partnership with the Youth and Media team at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University for educators of adolescents aged eleven to 18, can be downloaded without spending a dime.

Divided into issues which include privacy and recognition, identification exploration, security, protection and well-being, the classes replicate the voices of younger people from various socio-economic backgrounds, ethnicities, geographies, and academic degrees.

“We know that educators already control busy school rooms and getting to know environments. The training have been designed to make it as clean as feasible to integrate them into formal and casual mastering environments – letting educators know how much time each lesson will take and imparting written prompts to follow alongside the manner,” said Karuna Nain, Global Safety Programmes Manager at Facebook.

Currently, the 18 training are in English language and Facebook is planning to launch those in additional 45 languages quickly.
